He is our Prophet, Priest, and King,
Prophet
[Heb 1:1 ESV] Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
[Heb 1:2 ESV] but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
[Heb 1:3 ESV] He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Jesus states where His Authority is from.
[Jhn 12:49 ESV] For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment--what to say and what to speak.
[Jhn 12:50 ESV] And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me."
A Prophet of God is commanded to Say what God gives them to say.
[Eze 33:7 ESV] "So you, son of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me.
[Eze 33:8 ESV] If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.
[Eze 33:9 ESV] But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, that person shall die in his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.
Jesus IS.
[Col 1:15 ESV] He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
[Col 1:16 ESV] For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through him and for him.
[Col 1:17 ESV] And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
[Col 1:18 ESV] And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
[Col 1:19 ESV] For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,
[Col 1:20 ESV] and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
Priest
[Heb 2:17 ESV] Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
[Heb 7:24 ESV] but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever.
[Heb 7:25 ESV] Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
[Heb 7:26 ESV] For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.
King
[Jer 23:5 ESV] "Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
[Jer 23:6 ESV] In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: 'The LORD is our righteousness.'
[Isa 9:6 ESV] For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
[Isa 9:7 ESV] Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.
[Rev 19:16 ESV] On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
King Verses:
[Luk 1:32 ESV] He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David,
[Luk 1:33 ESV] and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end."
No other name.
[Act 4:12 ESV] And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Everlasting Kingdom
[Dan 7:14 ESV] And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.
All will bow to Jesus.
All will bow and confess.
[Rom 14:10 ESV] Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God;
[Rom 14:11 ESV] for it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."
[Rom 14:12 ESV] So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.
It is Written:
[Isa 45:23 ESV] By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: 'To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.'
Philippians
[Phl 2:9 ESV] Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,
[Phl 2:10 ESV] so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
[Phl 2:11 ESV] and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Is Jesus your King? Is He your Leader?
Do you know His orders and are you pushing forward to obey His Orders?
Jesus said to the religious leaders.
[Jhn 8:42 ESV] Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me.
Love of Jesus is to keep His commands.
[Jhn 14:15 ESV] "If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
[Jhn 14:16 ESV] And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,
[Jhn 14:17 ESV] even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
[Jhn 14:18 ESV] "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
[Jhn 14:19 ESV] Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.
[Jhn 14:20 ESV] In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
[Jhn 14:21 ESV] Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him."
Switch Your Yoke
[Mat 11:28 ESV] Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[Mat 11:29 ESV] Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
[Mat 11:30 ESV] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

He took our filthy rags and gave us
His righteous robe.
For us,
He kept the Law,
atoned for sin,
and satisfied God’s wrath.
He took our filthy rags and gave us
His righteous robe.
Imputation
3.
Law. to ascribe to or charge (a person) with an act or quality because of the conduct of another over whom one has control or for whose acts or conduct one is responsible.
4.
Theology. to attribute (righteousness, guilt, etc.) to a person orpersons vicariously; ascribe as derived from another.
ARTICLE 13
We affirm that because of Christ’s life of obedience and death, our sin is imputed to Him and His righteousness is imputed to us by faith.
We deny that our sin is merely overlooked or passed over, and we also deny that Christ’s righteousness is not imputed to us.
Monergy VS Synergy.
[Isa 64:6 ESV] We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21)
God forgave us of our sins AND declared us Righteous in Christ
The Law helps us see we can’t do.
[Rom 3:20 ESV] For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
[Rom 3:21 ESV] But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it--
[Rom 3:22 ESV] the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction:
[Rom 3:23 ESV] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
[Rom 3:24 ESV] and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Does not do Works of the Law.
[Rom 4:5 ESV] And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,
[Rom 4:6 ESV] just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:
[Rom 4:7 ESV] "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered;
[Rom 4:8 ESV] blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin."
Jesus became our Righteousness
[1Co 1:28 ESV] God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
[1Co 1:29 ESV] so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
[1Co 1:30 ESV] And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption,
[1Co 1:31 ESV] so that, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."
Righteousness comes through Faith in Christ, not works.
[Phl 3:9 ESV] and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—
Sola Fide, by faith alone.
Sola Scriptura, by Scripture alone.
Solus Christus, through Christ alone.
Sola Gratia, by grace alone.
Soli Deo Gloria, glory to God alone.
What about doing good works?
Work’s does not save you, works is the response of the saved.
Call to action: Response.
[Phl 3:8 ESV] Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ
Call to Action: Love may Abound more and more.
[Phl 1:9 ESV] And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment,
[Phl 1:10 ESV] so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,
[Phl 1:11 ESV] filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
What are the works of the saved?
Great Command
Great Commission
Five Disciplines.
What is most important to you?
Communion
[1Co 11:23 ESV] For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread,
[1Co 11:24 ESV] and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me."
[1Co 11:25 ESV] In the same way also he took the cup,
after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."
[1Co 11:26 ESV] For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

For us,
He kept the Law,
atoned for sin,
and satisfied God’s wrath.
He took our filthy rags and gave us
His righteous robe.
We affirm that Jesus is the perfect and supreme image of God, and that to be truly human is to be conformed to His image.
We also deny that sin is inherent to true humanity or that Jesus’ sinlessness is incompatible with His being truly human.
People who believe in free will believe evil is part of that “freedom”. Yet, Christ as a human truly had a free will, yet evil or sin was not in His nature. That is a what a free will looks like.
Therefore He had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. (Heb. 2:17–18).
Propitiate (To make favorably inclined: appease)
Propitiation: the act of propitiating, conciliation.
1 Cor. 15:45 Jesus is the Last Adam
So it is written: The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law.
Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.
But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many.
Grace: Giving us what we DON’T deserve.
And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin.
1,2,3, 4 punch
For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation,
but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification.
For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. *difference: “all men” extent vs effect
For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.
Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Rom. 5:12–21).
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Tim. 2:5).
In the statement it begins with “For Us”
God want’s to make sure one thing is settled for you. Your Salvation.
1. That You Are going to Heaven
2. How you are going to heaven.
Why? How you live your life, is based on what you know.
Someone who truly understands and feels loved by God, wants to Love God back.
1. By pursuing Him. TO KNOW HIM. And OBEY HIM.
2. The Bible is the most direct way to Know God.
3. The Christian is compelled by LOVE to want to know what is in the Bible. Because that is how we pursue God.
1John 3:1. But whoever obeys His Word, truly in this person the Love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him.
Jude 1: 20
But you, dear friends, as you build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit,
21 keep yourselves in the love of God, expecting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for Eternal Life.
